Lyme Regis Town Council
Full Council Meeting

A lot of support for Stone Balancer under threat Adrian Gray in the Public Forum, speakers in favour of the continuation of this unusual and fascinating art include Laurence Anholt, and Hugh Dunford-Wood among others. Interesting to note that during our last Adventure on the beach with Dr. Colin Dawes, we found that quite a few people are taking up stone balancing, and we even did a video of one young man making a very creditable pile. Its becoming a beach activity! I'm not sure anyone understands the council's view of concessions. If you can't make money doing it, theres really no point in having a concession. What is the difference between the Bouncy Castle taking money, and the Stone Balancer selling pictures? 45 minutes of council time was taken up in discussion of this.

Other topics discussed included the BMX Track, and more importantly, the discussion of purchase of land for a new Club for Young People.

Apologies for the sound balance here and there, but as we weren't personally at the meeting, we were unable to monitor the sound, though we offer a large round of applause, and a pint of guinness to our temp Audio Operative for the evening, he didn't do a bad job really don't you think? (the LymeRegisRadio team were at the Chantmarle near Dorchester having been nominated for a Community Champions Award!)
